# `getTransactions`

Returns transactions starting at a ledger sequence or paging cursor. This method uses [160 credits](/get-started/pricing/) from your daily balance.

The requested transactions must fall within the history the node retains.

## Parameters[​](#parameters "Direct link to Parameters")

- `startLedger`: (integer) _[optional]_ - Ledger sequence to start from, inclusive. The node returns an error if this is outside the ledgers it has stored. Omit this field when `pagination.cursor` is set.
- `pagination`: (object) _[optional]_ - Paging options:  
  - `cursor`: (string) _[optional]_ - Paging token. Set this to the `cursor` from the previous response to fetch the next page.
  - `limit`: (integer) _[optional]_ - Maximum number of transactions to return. The range is 1 to 200. The default is 50.
- `xdrFormat`: (string) _[optional]_ - Format for XDR fields in the response. `base64` is the default. `json` returns unpacked JSON. Do not rely on a stable schema for the JSON form, because it changes when the underlying XDR changes.

`result`: (object) - A page of transactions.

- `transactions`: (array) - Transactions in the page. Each transaction contains:  
  - `status`: (string) - `SUCCESS` or `FAILED`.
  - `txHash`: (string) - Hex-encoded transaction hash.
  - `applicationOrder`: (integer) - 1-based index of the transaction among transactions in the ledger.
  - `feeBump`: (boolean) - `true` when the transaction was fee-bumped.
  - `ledger`: (integer) - Sequence number of the ledger that included the transaction.
  - `createdAt`: (integer) - Unix timestamp of when the transaction was included.
  - `envelopeXdr`: (string) - Base64-encoded `TransactionEnvelope`.
  - `resultXdr`: (string) - Base64-encoded `TransactionResult`.
  - `resultMetaXdr`: (string) - Base64-encoded transaction metadata.
  - `diagnosticEventsXdr`: (array) _[optional]_ - Base64-encoded diagnostic events. Present when diagnostic events are enabled on the RPC server.
  - `events`: (object) - Events emitted while the transaction was applied.  
    - `transactionEventsXdr`: (array) - Base64-encoded transaction events, such as fees charged or refunded.
    - `contractEventsXdr`: (array) - Nested arrays of base64-encoded contract events, one array per operation.
- `latestLedger`: (integer) - Sequence number of the latest ledger known to the node when it handled the request.
- `latestLedgerCloseTimestamp`: (integer) - Unix timestamp of when that ledger closed.
- `oldestLedger`: (integer) - Sequence number of the oldest ledger kept in history.
- `oldestLedgerCloseTimestamp`: (integer) - Unix timestamp of when that ledger closed.
- `cursor`: (string) - Paging token for the next page.
