# `getmempooldescendants`

Returns the in-mempool descendants of an unconfirmed transaction. This method uses [80 credits](/get-started/pricing/) from your daily balance.

Descendants are the unconfirmed transactions that spend from this transaction, directly or indirectly. The method returns an error if the transaction isn't in the mempool.

## Parameters[​](#parameters "Direct link to Parameters")

- `txid`: (string) _[required]_ - Transaction ID.
- `verbose`: (boolean) _[optional]_ - `false` returns an array of transaction IDs. `true` returns an object keyed by transaction ID, with the fields described in [getrawmempool](/reference/bitcoin/json-rpc-methods/getrawmempool/). The default is `false`.

`result`: (array or object) - Descendant transaction IDs, or an object of mempool entries when `verbose` is `true`.

Replace the transaction ID with one currently in the mempool.
